Roadside America in Shartlesville, Pennsylvania

Visitors are treated to mid-20th Century model neighborhoods and railroads, sunsets every half-hour or so, along with a rendition of "God Bless America."  This place is a cross between outsider art and a railroad modelers convention.

What was once a home project eventually took on a life of its own, and moved from Greiringer's house to Carsiona Park, a no-defunct amusement center. Wanting to expand the extensive miniature village even more, Geiringer purchased land on Interstate 78, where Roadside America now resides.

Since 1935 the exhibition has been growing, and now covers 8,000 sq. ft. of real estate, all fully landscaped. The display includes 18 trains and trolleys, utilizes 21,500 ft. of wiring, and portrays 4,000 tiny little people going about their business in the town that Laurence Geiringer built.
